Software Application Support Executive

A vacancy has arisen for a Software Application Support Executive to work within our Company.

This is an exciting career, opportunity for the right person, allowing them to leave their mark on the overall manufacturing approach of the Company whilst at the same time gaining exposure to some of the leading resource planning software available world-wide. At this time, amongst others, the Company is making use of PMF (an in-house system) together with the AMS4U and SAP packages on the production and planning side.

Working within a small team, the selected candidate shall be responsible to analyse, design, re-engineer, upgrade, debug and document internally developed software programmes in line with the provided / bespoken design specifications. In this role the Executive will also implement Information Systems (IS) and will provide users with relevant training on said systems.

Amongst others the incumbent will:

• Evaluate user requirements and recommends improvements to existing IS;
• Design and develop new modules for IS software, including Interfaces;
• Enhance, where necessary through re-engineering, relevant software;
• Generate program code within pre-authorised parameters;
• Test and debug program code of developed modules or software;
• Maintain in-house developed software packages and extensions;
• Document in-house developments as per Company standard;
• Develop user manuals for software developed or for changes made to existing programs;

Ideally the chosen applicant would have:

• At least a MQF level 5 in Computer Studies or equivalent and a MQF Level 3 in Mathematics as well as English. Other education certificates will be considered an asset;
• Good knowledge of Databases, including SQL, and Operating Systems;
• Experience in Cobol, Java, C#, Visual Studio (including Visual Basic) and HTML. Any certification in any of these is considered an asset;
• Good communication and analytical/ problem solving skills. Experience in delivering training is desired;
• Good command of the English language in written as well as verbal form.
