Section Leaders

At this time vacancies have arisen for Section Leaders in the Process Engineering Department. In the future deployment might vary according to business needs.  Whilst the vacant position is currently on a day basis, the selected candidates may be asked to work on a different work pattern if/when the need arises.

The main duties related to this position include amongst others:-

• Leading and motivating a group of employees
• Commissioning new/relocated machinery and equipment
• Assisting foreign technical personnel in commissioning new machines / equipment or improvements
• Training and certifying new personnel and training personnel on new machinery / equipment, as requested
• Providing daily process support in-house and at our subcontractors
• Allocating new items for cost purposes
• Performing process trials / initial runs for new items / materials
• Performing new machinery / equipment acceptance tests at supplier or Playmobil premises
• Issuing setting / instruction sheets and/or other documents
• Producing / following up first offs / samples, as agreed upon internally or as requested by Head Office
• Assisting any other departments in machine stoppages, breakdowns and modifications, as required
• Restructuring or setting the design of new items, and assigning cost centres
• Handling requests for changes in production items
• Requesting quotations and communicating with suppliers / purchasing on the need of any new machinery / peripherals / materials for replacement / additional / improvements and subsequently issuing any purchase requests as required
• Assisting all PGs with regards to quality, takt time and machine setting issues
• Ordering jigs / moulds / tools from Mould Shop and carrying out trials on prototype before releasing to production
• Improving running items, machine capabilities, process trends and general machine performance
• Keeping abreast of technological advancements
• Carrying out any other tasks as needed within the Department

Applicants for the post should ideally:

• Have at least 3 years relevant experience;
• Have a technical diploma or equivalent,
• Have good interpersonal and leadership skills and problem-solving capabilities;
• Have good knowledge of company software and MS Excel and Word;
• Possess good organisational skills;
• Have good analytic fault finding and technical skills;
• Be creative, logical, innovative and eager to learn and improve competencies;

Knowledge on new technology in automation would be considered as an asset.
