The visiting delegation included journalists representing Vogue, Celebrity and various magazines targeting parents, the monthly magazine supplement of national newspaper Ethnos, and leading political newspaper Proto Thema.
During their visit, the journalists were taken on a tour of the Playmobil factory in Ħal Far by Chief Operating Officer Matthias Fauser, where they could see how each of the 100 million plus Malta-made Playmobil figures are created and assembled every year, as well as how high safety standards are met. The programme for the visit included an informal meeting with Playmobil Malta CEO Helga Ellul, who explained how a family business set up in 1974 was transformed into a global toy giant, followed by a presentation on the company’s Mould Construction Programme and the development of the Playmobil figure. The delegation also visited the adjoining FunPark where it was hosted for lunch on the premises.
Commenting on the press visit, Playmobil Malta Sales and Marketing Manager Anna Agius explained that the objective of this initiative was “to have our Greek media guests engage with the Playmobil experience, conveyed by means of the company’s long-standing corporate culture, the values underlining its unique products, as well as its business and operational model”.
