    Vacancies have arisen for the post of Mould Maker in the Mould Shop.  

    The selected candidates will be responsible to construct, repair and maintain moulds by using the appropriate designs and machinery. The tasks to be performed may include:

     

    • Manual work on plastic injection moulds.

    • CAD/CAM programming, machining of electrodes, CNC-milling, lathe turning, spark & wire erosion or manual milling / drilling.

    • To evaluate faults and correct accordingly.

    • To ensure that machines and/or equipment function properly.

    • To ensure that the workplace, machinery, tools and equipment within the department are maintained clean and organized.

     

    The ideal candidate should have:

     

    • A relevant technical certification.

    • Thorough knowledge of plastic injection moulds.

    • A sound knowledge of machining applications such as milling, drilling, bench fitting and surface grinding.

    • Basic knowledge in CNC machining.

    • Good organizational skills with ability to multitask.

    • A flexible approach towards changing priorities.

    • Capability of communicating with all department employees as well as superiors.

    The main duties include:

    • Identifies the best solutions for the necessity of our production need and allows the best combination between quality and productivity with minimum waste;

    • Analyses machine capabilities, process trends and general machine performance;

    • Follows up with the Section Leaders the daily planning work and ensuring best utilisation of manpower within the section;

    • Proven leadership skills and problem solving capabilities to give the necessary support, anticipate and resolve technical and software problems to all the departments to ensure production starts/continues;

    • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completely safe, effectively and in a timely manner.

    • Liaises with suppliers and learn new processes;

    • Commissions new or relocated machines;

    • Provides and organise training within the team and certifies personnel where needed;

    • Maintains and update the procedures of the department;

    • Ensure the follow up of documentation, procedures and work instructions were needed for production purposes;

    • Training delivery and evaluation;

     

    The candidate should ideally have:

     

    • at least 5 years relevant experience related to internal processes;

    • a recognized technical certification;

    • communicate, collaborate and delegate assignments based on team member skills and experience;

    • good analytical and fault finding skills;

    • contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed;
